A Treasure Island View

Last Sunday was a gloriously sunny day here so Louie and I went for a walk around Treasure Island. TI was the location  for the 1939 San Francisco World's Fair (aka Golden Gate International Exposition) and there are fantastic views from any spot on the Island.  During World War Two, it was also pressed into service and transported personnel and supplies.

I snapped this as we were leaving our house..downtown Oakland in foreground....

Bay Bridge leading into SF

Bay waters were very calm...Richmond hills in the background....

There is very little left of the World Fair structures but here are a few..
the architecture was definitely Art Deco.
My mother and her family were there on opening day....
